Clinical Supervision

YOU'VE MADE THE FIRST STEP

Your supervisor needs to get you. Maybe not 100% of the time. But there needs to be a desire for understanding and collaboration in clinical supervision. If we are to provide a safe place for clients with varying different perspectives, it helps to have a space where we can have this for ourselves first as an example.

My goal as a supervisor is to foster a safe space for you to share about your best and worst experiences as a therapist and to offer compassionate inquiry, perspective, and learning opportunities. I balance my tendency toward empathy, compassion, and acceptance with dedication to standards, responsibility and care.

GRIEF COUNSELLING IN A SUPPORTIVE SPACE

I understand that grief is a deeply personal experience, and there are a lot of expectations for how we “should” be grieving. With me, you can rest assured that there are no expectations for how you grieve. I hold only the belief that your experience is unique to you and should be honoured. Anything other than that can be an unhelpful message to us that we are broken or doing something “wrong”.

My own experiences with loss have taught me that there is no right answer. If you show up as your authentic self, with any emotion, be truthful and intentional you will be truly heard by me, with support and understanding at each step of your grieving process.
